  Objectives:

This conference is dedicated to the memory of John W. Tukey, who passed away on July 26, 2000.
His abundance of seminal contributions to Data Analysis has had a profound influence on  most of us, and his ideas will undoubtedly be present throughout our talks and discussions.

The conference is intended to bring together theoretical and applied statisticians from  different parts of  the world  who are  interested in the development of  contemporary  and  new methods for data analysis. The philosophy underlying this conference is the recognition that the practical concerns of real data  give rise to challenging  problems  both  theoretical and computational.  Examples of such  methods include in a broad sense  nonparametric regression,  resampling methods,  robust statistics,  statistical computing, among others. This  conference expects to touch upon  many different aspects of data analysis in a fashion which  integrates theoretical and applied statistics as opposed to treating them separately.
